Ryan's 30th Birthday Party!
For Ryan's 30th I decided to have a beer tasting party! After much debating about trying to make it a surprise I decided it was too much this year to have a surprise party. It's always a hard time of year considering Ryan's bday is 2 days before Christmas, we decided to have his party on the 30th in hopes that more people could make it, and we did have quite a few, but there were still a ton that were unable to to because of the timing. It was super fun though, Ryan's family was all here, a lot of our best friends that live here, and even one of Ryan's best buddies Micah & his wife Lindsey were able to come up and surprise him from Denver!!
As usual, I wish I would have gotten more and better pics, but here are the ones we did get!
Here are the "Blue Moon Cupcakes", made to look like a glass of blue moon beer, complete with frothy top and an orange slice. My sis in law Janae helped me make these and she did a great job!
We had everyone that came to the party bring a 6 pack of beer (the type they were to bring was based on the letter their name started with to try and keep the types diverse) We had 3 "stations", an Ale, a Lager, and a Dark/Stout/Other. Here is my mother in law Carleen showing off the Ale station. There was a red beer tub at each station full of ice that held a few types of each beer. Then there was a smaller little tin that was the "tasting tin". This is where you put a beer after you opened it to pour some into your tasting cup, so that it left some for the next person to come along and try. This kept us from wasting a lot of beer, and it actually worked really well!
Another station! The comment wall was my favorite, and unfortunately we didn't get a pic of it. It was a giant piece of paper from Norah's easel, and every type of beer that was brought was written on the wall, then people put stars next to the type of the beer that they liked the most, and there was a comment section which became entertainment in itself. The favorite beers of the night were: The Nutcracker Ale, Twisted Pine Raspberry Ale, and an Alaskan ale.
Here is Ryan with his Aunt Teri and Uncle Jeff that came in from North Carolina!
Ryan's dad Randy with his brother Jeff. Jeff's shirt was perfect, "In Dog Beers, I've had only one"!
Ry and I with Jason and his girlfriend Elisa.
Our friends the Hughes brothers with their sweet wives.
The beer pong in the basement got pretty intense towards the end of the night! Here are Ryan and Micah arguing after they lost to their wives!
We even got Ryan's parents to join in on the Beer Pong fun!

Me and my lovely girl friends!
More friends!!
Randy and I enjoying the festivities!
I feel like Ryan is on his tip toes here...great pic though!
This pic is so stinkin' funny, good ol Jeff sneaking in the background!
And after the beer pong, we had a little dancing in the kitchen!
Um..this may have been the reason for the dancing.
Ryan and Jason...and Zach ha ha.
Lindsey and I celebrating our beer pong domination!
Our friends Wes, Matt and Rich.
It was such a fun night...and quite the clean up in the morning. So thankful to have Carleen, Janae and Elisa that helped so much. It was a blast and I think Ryan really enjoyed it! And thanks that my parents took the girls for the night so I could really relax. However I got less sleep than I do with the girls....thanks to our 3:00am bedtime!
