the pregnancy...
Well, I'm coming up on 30 weeks this Saturday. And I know that I haven't posted a single belly picture of me. Comparing this to when I was pregnant with Norah is ridiculous, because I'd probably taken and posted 50 pics by now! It's amazing how different this pregnancy has been. Don't get me wrong, we are just as excited for the end result, but the process has been another story. I've been so much sicker (not anymore, but at the beginning), and I'm in so much more pain. My ribcage has been killing me lately, and it's just getting worse, ugh. We had another ultrasound yesterday, the 3rd one of this pregnancy, the most I've ever had. We did this because our midwife JG was concerned that I had Placenta Previa...no need for details, because Thank God the ultrasound showed that I am no longer at risk of this. So, the baby looked great, healthy as can be, and still a girl :) Somedays I can't believe I only have a bit over 2 months left, and other days October 8 seems like years away.
(Here is a bit of a bump that you can see at about 17 wks..)
(And at Norah's bday above I was 26 wks...)
These are as close as I have to bump pics.....
norah...
Norah is doing great. She's so much fun, and she's constantly doing something to make us laugh or smile. And, she's had a fair share of "terrible two" moments - let me tell you they were right on time. The night of her birthday, she threw one of the worst fits I've ever seen, and had a tough time going to bed (I'm sure part of this was due to the amount of excitement during the day.) But, she's had quite a few of these ridiculous moments since then, and we are all learning with how to deal with it. We also had a 3 day try at potty training....no need for lots of details...it was messy, unsuccessful and a complete emotional nightmare (for Norah and me)And we are really having to dig in to the disciplining and deciding what angle to take so that we are consistent and effective. It's so difficult to know how to parent sometimes!
our business...
Thank God we've had a very busy summer in the midst of some small businesses really struggling. We've had a quite a few last minute jobs that don't require much preparation nearly fall in our laps and we are thankful for these. We've also had a few challenges with employees (which is usually what the challenges have been when it comes to the DJ business). We had a DJ spend a night in jail, and a DJ get lost and show up late....these were obviously both firsts for us, and actually weren't as bad or as careless as they sound. But it's really made us re-evaulate and question how we do things. If only we could clone Ryan for 6 months/year! All in all, we are eager for September to end not only for the baby, but because DJ "season" comes to a break for a couple of months as well. We will then have a hopefully busy December, and then another few months of time to recoop from January - March/April.
our house...
We are really loving the new house. I guess it's not "new" anymore, since as of September we will have been here for a year! The backyard has been everything we expected, shade, shade, shade. We eat dinner out on our deck more often than not, and we could have never dreamed of doing this at our last house. We feel so peaceful and great out there, which we certainly need! Inside I've done a TON. I'm going to post pics of all the rooms we've redone someday, I might even decide to start the other blog back up so I have a place for kiddos and updates and a place for all my little projects...however I'm just not sure I have time to both. But I've truly enjoyed always having a new project! (Ryan thinks I'm crazy, and I might be, but I love it!) We just finished making over the laundry room....and the next project is the Nursery!
