to be fussy or not to be...
- Like I said last time, it seems like Nor has been a bit fussier again, so we went to Dr. P yesterday. He changed the way we are giving her Prevacid, it's the same dosage, just twice a day now instead of all at once, he's thinking it might be wearing off, so we will try this. I am also testing her poop again today, I will bring the sample to the doc soon, and then hopefully hear back this afternoon...I really really really hope and pray that it is negative again.
- Assuming it is negative, we will continue for a week or so with the prevacid dosage as is, if it gets better, we will just keep her there. If she doesn't improve, I am supposed to add the ranitidine back in (this is the med. she was on originally) twice/day.
- If neither of these work, and the stool test is negative, we will likely go see a pediatric gastroenterologist. There they would do an xray after Norah swallows some dye that makes her intestinal tract show up on the xray. Or there would scope her (which involves anesthesia :() So I am hoping neither of these things have to happen.
- Dr. P doesn't think that going to the pg specialist is neccessary now because the chances of it showing us anything in such a tiny little one is very unlikely. He would rather not put her through that for no information, and I agree....for now.
food!...
- Until we have all of the other stuff under control, I am not supposed to add any more foods. So sweet potatoes and carrots it is for now.
sleep...
- I am struggling to keep up with the "method" that I wanted to. I just am too tired sometimes, which is a catch 22, because if I could just stick to the plan consistently for a couple of weeks, supposably she would be sleeping a lot better. Can I get insurance with that, a guarantee that she will be sleeping or I get paid back for the sleep I missed?
- Last Night was a fairly good night, here is what it looked like.
- 7:00 In bed asleep (after being nursed to sleep)
- 10:00 Heard her cry, tiptoed into her bedroom, she was moving a bit, but fell right back asleep, I didn't even touch her.
- 10:30 Repeat of 10:00
- 1:30 Actually woke up, nursed her back to sleep, back in her crib by 2:15
- 5:00 Woke up, nursed, laid back down at 5:30, wasn't really asleep, I left the room, she started talking and playing with "Lamby" and was up for the day...out of crib by 5:50. I'm really trying not to take her out of her crib until 6.....trying.
- Norah: Total sleep time 9.5 hrs Bri: 6 hrs.
napping...
yesterday: Total nap time: 2.5 hrs.
- 7:30am, sleepy and cranky, put down drowsy but awake, fell asleep with minor fussing, up by 8:00am bright eyed and ready to play.
- 10:15 already ready for nap, rock to sleep, slept until 11:00.
- 1:00-1:30 fell asleep in car on way to and at doctors office.
- 4:00 fussy and sleepy, Ryan rocked her to sleep and put her down, up by 4:45.
today, so far:
- 7:15am already sleepy and fussy, put down drowsy but awake, fell right asleep, woke up at 7:55
- 10:15, sleepy, rocked to sleep, put down for nap, woke up at 10:55 but still looked tired, I went in, picked up and rocked back to sleep and she is still sleeping (11:45) yay!!
For those of you moms that read this and send me sleep tips, it's much appreciated. I could also use some prayers, especially at 3 am when I want to pull my hair out. :) thanks guys!
Our lives...yes we still have them.
The honda got smashed into while parked at Ry's work (thankfully he wasn't in it!) and after bringing it to get looked at, it was a total loss. Luckily the lady had great insurance and they were great to work with. This is actually a blessing because we wanted a new car (a 4 door) anyways, and we probably got more for it this way than we would have selling it ourselves. So, we are going to look for a car over the next week.
Ryan told me he already had bought my Christmas present, I of course didn't believe him, but I went along with it, ha ha. A couple of days later, I was listening to him on the radio, and he said that he hadn't bought a single gift yet and hadn't even started his shopping. Busted. Lesson learned by Ryan: Don't lie when you share your life with 10,000 people everyday.
Ps. I love Christmas music. I am an addict. I seriously listen to it all day...every day......seriously. Right now playing, Jack Johnson's Rudolph (great version).
One more thing.....our DVR is broken, it freaked out, lost all of our recorded shows and now we have to wait 3-5 days to get a new one. I feel like I lost my best friend.
Merry Christmas Week Eve!

Praying for solid sleep success for you guys! All too soon I will be up at all hours of the night with a newborn and I know I will be feeling much how you are feeling now. It does sound like things are getting a little better though, even if it's slow progress. She will get there and you will be right by her side!
Love the Christmas pictures too! Such a little doll you have been blessed with this Christmas. Have a blessed Christmas!
