the dairy diaries...
Yes, we are back to the dairy diaries.  With Norah, she was constantly crying still at 3 months old, so on my request we did a test that determined that there was blood in her poop, (meaning her intestines were inflamed and bleeding)   I then switched to her 3rd doctor (after the 2nd one had me quit nursing cold turkey and put Norah on formula) and did a lot of research, prayer, and discussion with other mamas, I  kept breastfeeding, and cut out all Dairy and Soy from my diet. and, she was dramatically better within days.  So this time around, after our doctor told us that most protein issues such as Norah's run in the family, I decided to also cut out Dairy and Soy again.   I will say however, this time it's already been easier.  It's easier knowing the problem ahead of time, and already being very well educated in what I can eat.  So this time around, I plan on occasionally sharing a new dairy free, soy free recipe I've used, as well as a surprise Dairy item, something that you would have never guessed had dairy or soy in it.

Dairy & Soy Free: Chocolate Dipped Coconut Macaroons.
My sweet friend Jaime made these for us for dessert with the fabulous dinner she made for us after Evelynn was born, they were delicious (as is everything Jaime makes!) So, I've made them twice since, they are so delicious, simple, and dairy and soy free (as long as you use dairy and soy free chocolate chips from Vitamin Cottage, which are delicious!)

Ingredient Surprise: Basil
I've used these tubes of herbs for a while now, they are fabulous, and they provide you with fresh herbs that last much longer than regular herbs and are so much fresher than dried.  I have bought them at Vitamin Cottage in the past, but a few weeks ago saw them at City Market, so I grabbed a Basil.  I went to put it in a pasta dish I was making last week, and at the last second checked the ingredients, and to my dismay, sure enough, it contains Milk! Why on earth does Basil contain milk?!

the sleep saga.
Our sleep habits may not be ideal, but our girls are!!! Check out these cuties that are absolutely in love with each other!

family life...
My brother and his sweet fiance Alexis came to our house to meet Ev a couple of weeks ago, we soooo enjoyed the time with them....and the girls fell even more in love with them. Norah is still talking about Uncle Brady and Alexis.

to reflux or not...
Evelynn has been put on Prevacid now for Reflux, which is a bit stronger than the previous medicine she was on, and is what Nor was on when she was little. We are hoping to see results soon, in the meantime, her favorite position is upright for sure. ;)
Some up and down time with Papa.
Some up and down time with Aunt Barbie.
Some up and down time with Grammy.

And here is some practice with my new camera with our first little beauty out in our backyard. We are blessed, I am thankful.

I love watching how quickly babies grow! She's already looking older and sweeter day by day.

Have you considered chiropractic care to help with her reflux? I know it helped my brother and SIL's (Sarah) son Grey a lot. It's super gentle and totally natural. Might be something to check into. We all go to Dr. Roman and he's AMAZING. He's also the doctor who helped Grey so much. You should ask Sarah about it, she can give you better details! :)
