Miss Norah.

There are times when you have a baby in the house, that the older babe gets paid less attention to, it's just a fact of life. We do however constantly strive in our house to have a fine balance between paying enough attention to both kids, while not beckoning to their every whine, while letting them know they are loved greatly and equally. I worry about this on the blog as well. In posts about family life, I almost always count pics to make sure there is a near even number of pictures of each girl. I must have got this from my mama, who to this day makes sure Brady and I's present # is exactly the same. :)

So, I have blogged each month about Evy's milestones, as I did with Norah when she was a baby, when they are changing, growing and learning so quickly. But I thought it was about time to talk a bit about our Norah. I could talk for days about this girl and how much I adore her, so I will try to keep it to a reasonable amount of gushing. ;)

Physically. ..
She is a ball full of energy. Her favorite "game" is to run. She loves to chase, be chased, and simply run back and forth across our yard or our house. She is constantly running, jumping, twirling, climbing, etc. So. Much. Energy.

She is really average sized for her age, pretty much smack in the middle, if anything a bit tall now....hmm, wonder where she got that from?

Expressions. She has a million different faces she makes, it's one of the first things people comment on, be it strangers or family members. From pictures or in person, she is expressive. And it's so fun to observe.

Milestones...
Norah can count to 15 easily. Almost always however skips 4. :)

She can say her ABC's almost perfectly...we get a bit jumbled around "l, m, n, o, p" but that only makes it cuter.

We are discussing starting preschool in the Fall....whoa that scares me, when did she get big enough to do that?

Potty Training.. what's that?  I thought kids were in diapers until they were in high school? Unless they want candy and then they can pee in the potty, the rest of the time, diapers.

Emotionally...
Norah is at such a fun stage. She is talking constantly, especially if she's just in the car with Ryan or I. She is so observant, always pointing things out, "look mom, there is a lilac bush."

Lover of her sister. She loves Ev so much. She says how cute Evy is, and wants to snuggle her at least 108 times/day. One of the first things she wants to do when she wakes up is to hold Ev's hand. She is always telling Evy, "when you get bigger, you can do this". Affectionally calls her Evy Girl.  Kisses her constantly.

Pretends so much!  She is always off pretending something. Her current favorite pretend games are: Pirates, complete with calling me Matey and saying Hardy Har Har. Priceless.  Coyote Game with her daddy.....involves running and jumping on a couch and putting a blanket over you to hide from the coyotes.  Pretending like our bed is a ship and we are sailing in the ocean, watch out for sharks, and for some reason we always jump off and run into our bathroom which is the elevator. obviously.  Norah can make anything a toy. Her favorite non-toy toys are empty toilet paper rolls (telescopes), paper (maps), playing cards (money or tickets), my necklaces and the bowl they sit in on my dresser (cookies that she is baking, complete with perfume as sugar, and lotion as milk).

Reader!  She is so in love with books. I still find her in room sometimes curled up on the couch with a good book :)  She can read a few books to us because her memory is so darn good she almost knows every word.  She also loves to take our books without pictures and make up stories as she goes. The stories almost always begin with "once upon a time" and have a mommy, daddy, big sister, and baby sister, and happily ever after, and three little pigs.  ha ha.

She is so great. We are so thankful for her. Can't believe she's coming up on three!!
