the dairy diaries update...

Norah had another checkup yesterday. The doctor was pretty positive because of her improvement in fussiness that the dairy is the culprit, but that the reflux medicine may be helping too. So, we are going to take Norah off the reflux medicine in 1 week, and keep her off for a few days to see if the symptoms return, if they do not, we will keep her off the medicine. If the symptoms return we will put her back on the medicine and once she improves again, we will then start slowly introducing dairy back into my diet to see if the reflux medicine alone is helping. We aren't taking her off the reflux medicine quite yet because she received her 2 month shots yesterday. She had 3 vaccination shots and took a medicine orally for rotovirus. Apparently these things cause fussiness, fever and/or pain in 1/3 of kids, yikes! So, we wouldn't know if taking Norah off of the reflux medicine was causing symptoms or the shots, so like I said we will wait until next week to stop the medicine for a few days. I hate having her on medicine at such a young age, so I really hope it's just the dairy sensitivity not painful reflux.

On another note, watching her get shots was awful, I hated every second and couldn't wait to pick her back up into my arms. She seemed to be fine about 5 minutes after. She never developed a fever last night, and seems fine this morning as well. One of the shot sights is a little red and swollen, but not too bad, and the other 2 look fine. So we will keep an eye on her and keep taking her temperature over the next couple of days, but are believing she is going to keep feeling great!

Lord, we thank you for healing Norah. Thank you for wisdom for Dr. R and for wisdom and discernment for me in knowing what to do for Norah. Thank You for every breath, every blink, every smile, every move you give our little precious girl, we love her so much. We thank you for this day; for the fresh cooler air, for the beauty of your creation. We praise you and glorify you today, and are thankful that you created the whole world, yet your heart still breaks for and you love little us. Amen.
