The non dairy diary.
I feel like Norah is doing better than she was. However, I still think there may be something we are missing or we may need to change some medicine or something. She's been doing fairly well, and has some really good times, but she also has had a few days where she seems primarily fussy while awake. I'm trying to keep a food diary to keep track of what I'm eating to see if it's correlated, but so far haven't seen the connection. It's odd, the past 2 days were pretty fussy, and today so far has been pretty good. I don't know if it's related to being thrown out of whack by our trip to Denver and unfamiliar surroundings and a lot going on, or if its tummy and diet related? We see Dr. R the pediatrician on the 16th, and if things continue as they are I think I'll wait until then, but if I think she isn't getting any better still or worse, I am going to try and get in sooner.
I have been doing fine as far as eating no dairy is concerned. It isn't easy, but all the cute smiles make it worth it. I'm so glad it's fresh fruit and veggie time here, because I love love love them all. What am I eating? My favorite lately is bbqing zucchini brushed with olive oil and salt and pepper. Another favorite recipe right now is: Fill a pyrex with grape tomatoes drizzle with olive oil, a little s & p and bake in oven for 30 mins, then toss into whole wheat pasta, yum yum yum!!! I've also found some soy ice cream sandwiches that are nearly like ice cream!
norah's first trip over the mountain.
So, we made the trip to Denver last week. Norah hadn't gotten to meet her Uncle Jason yet because he's been working so dang much over in San Jose, so we couldn't pass up an opportunity to get together with Ryan's whole family in Denver. We were concerned about how the trip would go considering her horrible crying nearly every time she's in her carseat, but it went suprisingly well, praise god!! She slept nearly to Georgetown on the way there, I had to pee so bad by then, but we weren't going to dare stop until she was ready.
During our stay in Denver Norah got to try out her bassinet that sits in her pack and play, it was great, as was the built in changing table, wow what a cool invention. Thanks Mom and Dad! Norah got to meet her Uncle Jason, Aunt Gina, Uncle Tim, Uncle Karl, Uncle Dan, Joey, the Mahoney family, and more!
Grandma G got to watch Norah as we all went to the Rockies game, I was pretty stressed about this, because I was going to be gone for 5 hours, by far the longest I've ever been away from her, and wasn't sure how much milk she would go through, it's so hard to know since she rarely eats out of a bottle. But it went really well, she slept most of the time, and finished 4 oz of milk perfectly for Grandma. G Daddy (Randy) and Grandma G especially enjoyed the long story she told them as we were leaving. It was so dang cute, Randy was pretending to eat her hand, and she was smiling and coo-ing up a storm.
Notice that I always put pics at the end of posts, otherwise I doubt any of you would read anything I wrote and simply look at cute little Norah and I certainly wouldn't blame you!
